The deal, in plain language.

KitID is operated by Gear Wizard Armory ("KitID," "we," "us"), based in Georgia, USA. By creating an account or using kitid.app or the KitID mobile app (together, the "Service"), you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.

You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract. The Service is operated from the United States and intended for US users; if you use it from elsewhere, you're responsible for local compliance.

KitID uses artificial intelligence to identify tactical and shooting-sports equipment in photos, maintains a reference catalog, and helps you plan and price kits. Identifications are probabilistic best judgments, not certifications. We display confidence scores precisely because the AI can be wrong — about identity, authenticity, condition, pricing, and everything else.

Nothing on the Service is legal, safety, medical, financial, or professional advice. Do not rely on KitID for any safety-critical decision — verify armor ratings, equipment condition, compatibility, and the legality of any item in your jurisdiction with the manufacturer and applicable law before acting. Catalog prices are street-price estimates that can be wrong or stale.

We identify firearms and firearm-classified items (including things like 40mm launchers) for informational and educational purposes only. KitID does not sell, offer, broker, facilitate, or link to the purchase of firearms, ammunition, or NFA items, and holds no federal firearms license. Complying with all federal, state, and local law on anything you own, buy, sell, or carry is entirely your responsibility.

You may only upload photos and content you have the right to use. Don't upload unlawful content, other people's private information, or images intended to identify, surveil, target, or harass any person — KitID analyzes equipment, never people, and we enforce that with automated pre-checks that reject unsuitable images.

You keep ownership of what you upload. You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, process, display, and analyze your content as needed to run and improve the Service (for example: running identification, showing your scan history, displaying reviews and shared kits you choose to make public). Public content (shared kits, reviews) is visible to others until you delete it or your account.

We may remove content or refuse processing at our discretion, including anything that violates these Terms.

Scanning costs credits: one credit = one scan session (up to 5 photos of one loadout). New accounts receive complimentary starting credits. If a scan fails on our side after being charged, the credit is refunded automatically — you can see every charge, grant, and refund in the ledger on your Account page.

Credit packs are processed by Stripe; your card details never touch our servers. Credits are prepaid fees for the Service: they have no cash value, are non-transferable, and don't expire. If you're unhappy with a purchase, contact us within 14 days and we'll refund the unused portion of that pack. Prices may change; changes never affect credits you already hold.

Complimentary credits (signup grants, correction rewards, promotions) are goodwill, may be adjusted for abuse, and are never refundable for money.

Reviews must reflect your genuine experience. The "verified owner" badge is computed by us from your scans and kits — it can't be self-claimed, and faking ownership signals is a violation of these Terms. We may moderate, feature, or remove reviews; we don't edit their substance. Corrections you submit may be used to improve the catalog and the identification system — that's the point — and may earn credit rewards at our discretion.

"Where to buy" links go to third-party retailers and search results. Some items instead link to our own store, Gear Wizard Armory (the same business as KitID) — when they do, the row is labelled "Our store". Some third-party links are or may become affiliate links, meaning we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Recommendations are based on the gear, never the payout, and we disclose affiliate relationships where they exist. We are not responsible for third-party sites, prices, stock, or conduct.

You agree not to:

• use the Service to identify, track, surveil, or harm any person;
• scrape, bulk-export, or resell the catalog or Service outputs;
• probe, overload, reverse-engineer, or circumvent limits or security controls;
• misrepresent identifications or reviews, or manipulate credits or rewards;
• use the Service in violation of any law, including export-control law.

Keep your credentials secure — you're responsible for activity on your account. You can delete your account (and all its data) any time from the Account page. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms; if we terminate you without cause, we'll refund the unused purchased credits on the account.

The Service — including the KitID name, design, software, catalog compilation, and editorial content — belongs to us or our licensors. We give you a personal, non-transferable license to use it as intended. Product names and trademarks in the catalog belong to their manufacturers; their appearance is identification, not endorsement or affiliation.

If you believe content on the Service infringes your copyright, email us with the material identified, its location, your contact information, and a good-faith statement, and we'll act promptly, including removal where appropriate.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED — INCLUDING ACCURACY OF IDENTIFICATIONS, MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR (B) FIFTY US DOLLARS ($50). Some jurisdictions don't allow certain limitations, so parts of this may not apply to you.

You'll defend and hold us harmless from claims arising out of your content, your use of the Service in violation of these Terms, or your violation of law or third-party rights.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Before filing any claim, you agree to contact us and give us 30 days to work it out informally — most things are fixable. Any dispute that can't be resolved informally will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Georgia, and you consent to their jurisdiction.

We may update these Terms as the product grows. For material changes we'll post the update here with a new date and use reasonable means to flag it. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the current version.
