History
China standardized the Type 07 family across the PLA in 2007, replacing the Type 87 series and giving each service and terrain its own digital colorway. The universal land-forces colorway became the default image of the modern PLA. The Type 21 family began replacing it from 2021.
In the field
A broad compromise pattern rather than a terrain specialist; China began replacing it with the Type 21 'Starry Sky' family in 2021.
