History
Derived from the French lizard pattern, tigerstripe was produced from the early 1960s in many local variations for South Vietnamese forces and worn unofficially by US advisors, special forces and SEALs. It was never a standard US issue item, and most variants were made in Southeast Asian workshops. After 1975 it lived on through reproductions and periodic SOF revivals.
