History
Developed at the US Army Natick labs by enlarging the ERDL pattern roughly 60 percent so it would stay disruptive at longer engagement distances, and issued from 1981 on the Battle Dress Uniform across all services. It replaced plain olive uniforms and served as the default US pattern for over two decades. It was phased out during 2002-2008 as MARPAT, UCP and later OCP arrived, but remains in production worldwide and still clothes many militaries.

Still excellent in actual eastern woodland; poor in arid and urban settings. Enjoying a full-scale revival.
