History
Adopted in 2004 as the Army Combat Uniform pattern, intended to work everywhere without terrain-specific variants. Field experience and the Army's own studies found it underperformed in nearly every environment, particularly Afghanistan, prompting the interim MultiCam issue there from 2010. The Army formally moved to OCP in 2015, with UCP wear ending in 2019.
In the field
Underperformed nearly everywhere; the cautionary tale that produced OCP. Surplus abounds.
