History
Scorpion was developed around 2002 in the Objective Force Warrior program by Crye and Natick; the Army revised it in-house as Scorpion W2 and adopted it in 2015 as the Operational Camouflage Pattern. Using the government-owned Scorpion design avoided licensing MultiCam at commercial rates. It replaced UCP as the Army and later Air Force standard.
In the field
Functionally MultiCam; the two are nearly indistinguishable in photos — vertical elements differ subtly.
